तमिलनाडु कृषि विश्वविद्यालय के बारे में

तमिलनाडु कृषि विश्वविद्यालय (TNAU) की उत्पत्ति 1868 की शुरुआत में सैदापेट, मद्रास, तमिलनाडु में एक कृषि विद्यालय की स्थापना से हुई थी और बाद में इसे कोयंबटूर में स्थानांतरित कर दिया गया था। 1920 में इसे मद्रास विश्वविद्यालय से संबद्ध कर दिया गया था। TNAU ने कृषि शिक्षा और अनुसंधान की पूरी जिम्मेदारी संभाली और अनुसंधान उत्पादों को वितरित करके राज्य कृषि विभाग का समर्थन किया। 1946 तक, कृषि महाविद्यालय और अनुसंधान संस्थान, कोयंबटूर, पूरे दक्षिण भारत के लिए कृषि शिक्षा का एकमात्र संस्थान था। 1958 में, इसे स्नातकोत्तर केंद्र के रूप में मान्यता दी गई, जिससे परास्नातक और डॉक्टरेट की डिग्री प्राप्त हुई। कृषि महाविद्यालय और अनुसंधान संस्थान, मदुरै की स्थापना 1965 में हुई थी। इन दो कॉलेजों ने तमिलनाडु कृषि विश्वविद्यालय के केंद्र का गठन किया, जबकि इसकी स्थापना 1971 में हुई थी।
