शैक्षणिक योग्यता (Educational Qualifications): M.Sc

Sálim Ali Centre for Ornithology and Natural History (SACON), under the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India wishes to engage research personnel (Indian national only) on purely temporary basis through an online interview scheduled to be conducted for the shortlisted candidates, on 24-Dec-2021. Details of the available positions under various projects and application procedures are given below.

1. Project-I Effect of construction of Karapura Bridge near Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary on the migratory birds and their habitat

2. Duration: 01 year

5. Essential Qualifications: Post graduate degree in Wildlife biology/ Ecology/ Zoology/ Environmental Science, Two years of field research अनुभव in faunal studies and Minimum of one relevant peer-reviewed publication

6. Desirable Qualifications: Research अनुभव in avifaunal studies/ Environmental Impact Assessments/ Wildlife surveys, Expertise in Bird identification/ ringing/ tagging etc., GOod command over the English language with good writing and data analysis skills

7. Fellowship: Rs 35,000 + HRA

8. Description of Work: The work involves extensive travel and stay at field sites with bare minimum faclities for the collection of field data on avifauna. Involves strenuous field work and data collection analysis and writing periodic reports.

Selection Procedure

The candidates shortlisted ater scrutiny of applications will be called for the online Interview on 24-Dec-2021.

आवेदन करने का तरीका (How to apply)

चयन प्रकिया: अभ्यर्थी का चयन लिखित परीक्षा एवं साक्षात्कार में उनके प्रदर्शन के आधार पर किया जाएगा।

1. The application should be made in the prescribed format (see format attached below).

2. The format can also be downloaded from our website (https://www.sacon.in/careers/) Interested candidates, who fulfil all essential qualifications are required to submit the scanned/ PDF copy of the duly filled application form in PDF format, by email (with subject line mentioning the name of the position applied for) to recruitments @sacon.in with a CC to [email protected] latest by 1700Hrs on 20-Dec-2021.

3. Application form should accompany scanned copies of all supporting documents and testimonials as a single separate PDF file, with all the proofs of educational qualifications in chronological order (starting from the most recent one).

4. After all the Educational certificates add other documents also in chronological order. Each application form should be complete along with copies of certificates/testimonials in support of essential and desirable qualifications, research अनुभव, date of birth, community, extracurricular activities etc. Please do NOT send hard copies of application forms.

Important Instructions:

1. Candidates applying for the above positions should possess all the essential Qualifications (with originals of supporting documents) as on the date of interview.

2. Candidates applying for more than one position should submit separate sets of filled-in application forms and copies of testimonials

3. The upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBCWomen/Physically Challenged categories as per applicable Central Government norms.

4. Selected candidates will be engaged initially for a period mentioned against the advertised position. Subsequently his/her tenure may be extended at the sole discretion of the Centre depending upon the requirement of the project and satisfactory performance of the candidate.

5. Selected candidates may be allowed hostel accommodation at SACON as per availability. Other allowances and benefits to the research personnel will be admissible as per the rules 6. Canvassing in any form is liable to rejection of the candidature.

Selected candidates should submit the hard copies of the filled-in application forms with recent passport-size photograph affixed, along with self-attested true copies of all supporting documents for educational qualifications, research अनुभव, date of birth, community, extracurricular activities, Covid vaccination certificates etc. whille joining the centre. All original documents should also be produced for verification.
