Technical Assistant-B: (a) Full Time Science Graduate (from a recognized University/Institute with an aggregate of 60% marks) in a relevant discipline. OR (a) Full-time Diploma in Engineering (from a recognized University/Institute with an aggregate of 60% marks) in a relevant discipline. (b) Knowledge of the use of personal computers and their applications.

Scientific Assistant-B: (a) Full-time B.Sc (Computer Science/ Electronics/ DERE) with aggregate 60% marks from a recognized University/ Institute OR (a) Diploma in Computer Engineering with aggregate 60% marks from a recognized University/ Institute. (b) Knowledge of the use of personal computers and their applications. (c) The post requires shift duty.

Laboratory Assistant-B: (a) Full-Time H.S.C. with 60%. (b) Two-year अनुभव in Laboratory OR (a) National Trade Certificate (NTC) (aggregate of 60% marks) awarded by National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) in electronics or equivalent. (b) Two years अनुभव in the electronics lab of a reputed organisation. OR (a) National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) (aggregate of 60% marks) awarded by the National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) in electronics or equivalent. (b) 1-year अनुभव in the electronics lab of a reputed organisation.

Tradesman-B: (a) National Trade Certificate (NTC) (with an aggregate of 60% marks) awarded by the National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) in the electrical or equivalent discipline. (b) Two years अनुभव OR (a) National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) (with an aggregate of 60% marks) awarded by the National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) in electrical or equivalent trade. (b) 1-year अनुभव in a relevant field.

Work Assistant-B: (a) Passed S.S.C. OR Equivalent from a recognized Board OR (b) National Trade Certificate (NTC) (Electronics) awarded by National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) in relevant field.

Security Guard: S.S.C. or Equivalent (Central/State Board Examinations).

अनुभव (अनुभव):
Technical Assistant-B: 2 years अनुभव as per the requirement of the Section / Department.

Scientific Assistant-B: 2 years’ अनुभव in a reputed organisation.

Work Assistant-B: One-year अनुभव maintenance in the areas: plumbing/ electronics/ electrical / carpentering / masonry / garden and horticulture/ estate.

Security Guard: (i) Minimum three years अनुभव in Defence / CAPF/ Security work in a reputed organisation. (ii) Firefighting Training, First Aid Certificate/ NCC certificate/ Civil Defence training/ Home Guard (This clause is not applicable to candidates for Defence/ CAPF) (iii) Knowledge of use of personal computers and applications.

The Centre has its roots in the Radio Astronomy Group of TIFR, set up in the early 1960s under the leadership of Prof. Govind Swarup. The group designed and built the Ooty Radio Telescope. In the early 80’s an ambitious plan for a new telescope was proposed – the Giant Meterwave Radio Telescope. Since the site chosen for this new telescope was close to Pune, a new home for the group was built in the scenic campus of Pune University. The radio astronomy group morphed into the National Centre for Radio Astrophysics around this time.
