शैक्षणिक योग्यता (Educational Qualifications):
Professor: Should have a Ph.D. with first class at the preceding degree or equivalent in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record and a minimum of 10 years post Ph.D. अनुभव, of which, at least 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs, IISc, IIMs and IISER or at an equivalent Indian or foreign institution/ institutions of comparable standards. Should have relevant high teaching, research, training and consulting credentials.

Associate Professor: Should have a Ph.D. with first class at the preceding degree or equivalent in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout and a minimum of six years relevant post Ph.D. teaching/ research /industry अनुभव, of which, at least three years should be at the level of Assistant Professors or equivalent.

Assistant Professor-Grade-I: Should have Ph.D. with first class at the preceding degree or equivalent in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout and at least three years of relevant post Ph.D. teaching/research/ industrial अनुभव.

Founded in 2011, it is one of the seven Indian Institutes of Management the Indian government had set up during the Eleventh Five-Year Plan[3] and was mentored by IIM Bangalore. It was the 11th IIM to be set up in India. Classes for the first batch began on 15 June 2011.
