शैक्षणिक योग्यता (Educational Qualifications):
(i) a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or degree of Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) obtained from any of the Universities established or incorporated by or under the Central or a State Act in India: or any other educational institution recognised as such or declared as deemed to be University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; or

(ii) a Diploma in Pharmacy obtained from any of the Universities established or incorporated by or under the Central or a State Act in India; or any other educational institution recognised as such or declared as deemed to be a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; and having about two years अनुभव as a Junior Pharmacist in Government, Government Undertaking or Board or as a Dispenser in the hospital or in dispensaries or as a Pharmacist or Medical Representative of any of the pharmaceutical company established under the Companies Act, 2013;

(i) possess the basic knowledge of computer application as prescribed in the Gujarat Civil Services Classification (General) Rules, 1967; and
(ii) possess adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.

The secondary service is called "Sandagi Mandal". This office has the status of the office of the head of the department.
