शैक्षणिक योग्यता (Educational Qualifications):
Junior Clerk: Intermediate. English and Hindi Typing (25 WPM in Hindi and 30 WPM in English).
Assistant Teacher: Bachelor Degree. Two Years BTC / B.Ed.
Midwife: Two Years Course of ANM.
Pump Attendant: ITI Certificate.
Electrician: ITI Certificate.
Ward Boy: High School.
Assistant Sanitary Inspector: Intermediate. Computer Operating CCC Certificate. English and Hindi Typing (25 WPM in Hindi and 30 WPM in English).
Medical Officer: MBBS.

आयु सीमा (Age Limit): 21-30 Years.

छावनी बोर्ड वाराणसी भारत सरकार रक्षा मंत्रालय के नियंत्रण में एक स्वायत्तशासी निकाय है और छावनी अधिनियम, 2006 के प्रावधानों के अनुसार अनिवार्य और विवेकाधीन कार्यो का निर्वहन करती है । छावनी अधिनियम बोर्ड के अनिवार्य और विवेकाधीन कार्यो जैसे शिक्षा, सार्वजनिक स्वास्थ्य, स्वच्छता, सडक, स्ट्रीट लार्इट और जन्म व मृत्यु पंजीकरण को करती है । प्रशासन और नागरिक प्रतिनिधित्व के उद्देश्य से बोर्ड को 07 वार्डो में विभाजित किया गया है । अन्य कर्इ नियम है जैसे छावनी लेखा संहिता नियम, छावनी निधि सेवा नियमावली, छावनी भूमि प्रशासन नियम और छावनी सम्पत्ति नियम जो छावनी अधिनियम से ही निकलते है ।
वर्तमान में छावनी परिषद, छावनी अधिनियम, 2006 और रक्षा मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार द्वारा समय-समय पर जारी विभिन्न नीति पत्रों और दिशा-निर्देशों द्वारा संचालित होती है । यद्यपि बोर्ड एक स्थानीय नगर निकाय के रुप में कार्य करती है फिर भी यह महानिदेशालय, रक्षा सम्पदा, दिल्ली छावनी व प्रधान निदेशक, रक्षा सम्पदा, मध्य कमान, लखनऊ छावनी के प्रशासनिक नियंत्रण में है ।
छावनी बोर्ड में 07 निर्वाचित सदस्य, दो नामित सैन्य सदस्य, दो पदेन सदस्य (सहायक दुर्ग अभियन्ता और वरिष्ठ कार्यकारी चिकित्साधिकारी) एवं जिला मजिस्ट्रेट के एक प्रतिनिधि होते है । भारतीय रक्षा सम्पदा को एक अधिकारी जो केन्द्रीय नागरिक सेवा है, मुख्य अधिशासी अधिकारी बोर्ड के सदस्य/सचिव के रुप में तैनात होते है । बोर्ड की अध्यक्षता, अध्यक्ष छावनी बोर्ड करते है जो स्टेशन कमांडर होते है । निर्वाचित सदस्यों का कार्यकाल पॉच वर्ष का होता है । उपाध्यक्ष निर्वाचित सदस्यों में से चुने जाते है ।
