शैक्षणिक योग्यता (Educational Qualifications):
Superintendent of Police: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University.

Principle Scientific Officer: Masters degree in Science with Physics or Applied Physics as a subject from a recognized University with ten years अनुभव in research development or in application or Science Technology to police work in weaponry in Central or State Government; or Govt. Research and Development Organisations or autonomous bodies.

Junior Analyst: Master’s degree in Social Work or Sociology or Criminology of a recognized university.

Senior Scientific Assistant: Master’s degree in operational Research or in Mathematics with specialisation in Operational Research of a recognised university or equivalent.

Senior Investigator: Master’s degree in Social Work or Sociology or Criminology of a recognised university.

Stenographer:
(i) 12th Class or equivalent pass from a recognized Board.
(ii) possessing speed of 80 words per minute in shorthand (English or hindi).
(iii) working knowledge of computer.

Junior Accountant:
(i) Bachelor degree from a recognized university; and
(ii) two years’ अनुभव in cash, accounts and budget work in a government.

Computer Operator:
(i) Bachelors degree in Computer Application or Information Technology or Computer Science from recognized university;
(ii) Two years’ अनुभव in EDP or Networking. For more details, please refer to official notification.

INR
Level-02 to Level-13 Per Month

आयु सीमा (Age Limit): Maximum 56 Years.

पुलिस अनुसंधान एवं विकास ब्यूरो (अंग्रेज़ी:ब्यूरो ऑफ पुलिस रिसर्च एण्ड डवलपमेंट, लघु:बी.पी.आर एण्ड डी) की स्थापना पुलिस बलों के आधुनिकीकरण के बारे में भारत सरकार के उद्देश्य को पूरा करने के लिए २८ अगस्त, १९७० को की गई थी।[2] अब यह बहुआयामी एवं परामर्शदाता संगठन है और इसके चार प्रभाग हैं। मूल रूप से संस्थान में दो प्रभाग होते थे: अनुसंधान एवं विकास प्रभाग। बाद में १९७३ में प्रशिक्षण प्रभाग जोड़ा गया। इसके बाद १९८३ में फॉरेन्ज़िक विज्ञान प्रभाग और १९९५ में दिष-सुधार प्रशासन प्रभाग जुड़े। इसके साथ साथ कुछ अन्य विभागों ने संस्थान के कुछ कार्य संभाले, जैसे १९७६ में अपराध विज्ञान एवं फॉरेन्ज़िक विज्ञान ने कुछ संबंधित कार्य संभाला। इस विभाग को बाद में लोक नायक जय प्रकाश नारायण राष्ट्रीय अपराध विज्ञान एवं फॉरेन्ज़िक विज्ञान नाम दिया गया। १९८६ में राष्ट्रीय अपराध अभिलेख ब्यूरो और २००२ में फॉरेन्ज़िक विज्ञान निदेशालय ने संभाला।
