It is proposed to fill up one post of संयुक्त निदेशक General (Conservation), GCs Group 'A', Gazetted in the PB- 4, Rs. 37400- 67000+ Grade Pay of Rs. 8700 in भारतीय पुरातत्‍व सर्वेक्षण (भापुस) on composite method deputation (including short term contract) plus promotion.

3. For Deputation: Officers under the Central Government or State Governments or Union Teritories or Public Sector Undertakings or Universities or Research Institutions or Semi Government or Statutory or Autonomous organizations- holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre or department; or with five years' service in grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in posts in PB 3 Rs. 15600- 39100 plus Grade Pay of Rs. 7600 or equivalent in the parent cadre or department: and

4. Possessing the following educational qualifications and अनुभव namely: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture from a recognised university. Twelve years of regular अनुभव in conservation of heritage buildings or monuments or archaeological sites and remains including those which have been included in the World Heritage list. or Master Degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture from a recognised university. Ten years of regular अनुभव in conservation of heritage buildings or monuments or archaeological sites and remains including those which have been included in the World Heritage list.

4. Desirable: Doctorate degree involving in any aspect of Archaeology or Conservation. Published research papers or reports on any aspect of Archaeoiogy or Conservation, in journals of National level.

संस्‍कृति मंत्रालय के अधीन भारतीय पुरातत्‍व सर्वेक्षण (भा.पु.स.) राष्‍ट्र की सांस्‍कृतिक विरासतों के पुरातत्‍वीय अनुसंधान तथा संरक्षण के लिए एक प्रमुख संगठन है । भारतीय पुरातत्‍व सर्वेक्षण का प्रमुख कार्य राष्‍ट्रीय महत्‍व के प्राचीन स्‍मारकों तथा पुरातत्‍वीय स्‍थलों और अवशेषों का रखरखाव करना है । इसके अतिरिक्‍त, प्राचीन संस्‍मारक तथा पुरातत्‍वीय स्‍थल और अवशेष अधिनियम, 1958 के प्रावधानों के अनुसार यह देश में सभी पुरातत्‍वीय गतिविधियों को विनियमित करता है । यह पुरावशेष तथा बहुमूल्‍य कलाकृति अधिनियम, 1972 को भी विनियमित करता है ।

राष्‍ट्रीय महत्‍व के प्राचीन स्‍मारकों तथा पुरातत्‍वीय स्‍थलों तथा अवशेषों के रखरखाव के लिए सम्‍पूर्ण देश को 24 मंडलों में विभाजित किया गया है । संगठन के पास मंडलों, संग्रहालयों, उत्‍खनन शाखाओं, प्रागैतिहासिक शाखा, पुरालेख शाखाओं, विज्ञान शाखा, उद्यान शाखा, भवन सर्वेक्षण परियोजना, मंदिर सर्वेक्षण परियोजनाओं तथा अन्‍तरजलीय पुरातत्‍व स्‍कन्‍ध के माध्‍यम से पुरातत्‍वीय अनुसंधान परियोजनाओं के संचालन के लिए बड़ी संख्‍या में प्रशिक्षित पुरातत्‍वविदों, संरक्षकों, पुरालेखविदों, वास्तुकारों तथा वैज्ञानिकों का कार्य दल है ।
