3. Essential Qualifications: Educational:
Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or Institute. Note: The candidate who were enrolled for Associate Member of Institution of Engineers (AMIE) upto 31.05.2013 are only eligible for consideration to the post of Sub-Divisional Engineer (CIVIL) for Direct भर्ती and the candidate who have enrolled on or after 01.06.2013 for AMIE are not eligible for consideration to the post of Sub-Divisional Engineer (CIVIL) (Direct भर्ती).
NOTE-I: The Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
NOTE-II: The qualification(s) regarding अनुभव is/are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing in the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, if at any stage of selection the Union Public Service Commission, is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from this community possessing the requisite अनुभव are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them
4. Duties: Incharge of Sub Division. For Supervising the maintenance of residential /non residential buildings, located in the Union Territory, Chandigarh. Supervision and execution of the construction of Building and Road works. HQ: Chandigarh
5. Any Other Condition:
The Sub-Divisional Engineer appointed through Direct भर्ती shall undergo one month’s induction training from an Institute designated by the Department, in the field of duties or responsibilities of the post immediately after their appointment and such training shall be part of successful completion of probation.
6. Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100/-(PB-3) + Rs. 5400/-(Grade Pay).

Selection Procedure
1. Date For The Interview On Which The Shortlisted Candidate Is Required To Bring The Printout Of His/her Online Application Alongwith Other Documents At Upsc Shall Be Intimated Separately.
2. In The Event Of Number Of Applications Being Large, Commission Will Adopt Short Listing Criteria To Restrict The Number Of Candidates To Be Called For Interview To A Reasonable Number By Any Or More Of The Following Methods:
(a) “On the basis of Desirable Qualification (DQ) or any one or all of the DQs if more than one DQ is prescribed”.
(b) On the basis of higher educational qualifications than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement.
(c) On the basis of higher अनुभव in the relevant field than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement.
(d) By counting अनुभव before or after the acquisition of essential qualifications.
(e) By invoking अनुभव even in cases where there is no अनुभव mentioned either as Essential Qualification (EQ) or as Desirable Qualification (DQ).
(f) By holding a भर्ती Test.
आवेदन करने का तरीका (How to apply)
चयन प्रकिया: अभ्यर्थी का चयन लिखित परीक्षा एवं साक्षात्कार में उनके प्रदर्शन के आधार पर किया जाएगा।
1. Closing Date For Submission Of Online भर्ती Application (Ora) Through Ora Website Is 23:59 Hrs On 30.12.2021.
2. The Last Date For Printing Of Completely Submitted Online Application Is Upto 23:59 Hrs On 31.12.2021.
3. Date For Determining The Eligibility Of All Candidates In Every Respect Shall Be The Prescribed Closing Date For Submisison Of Online भर्ती Application (Ora).
4. The Applicants Are Advised To Fill In All Their Particulars In The Online भर्ती Application Carefully As Submission Of Wrong Information May Lead To Rejection Through Computer Based Shortlisting Apart From Debarment By The Commission.
i) Candidates must apply online through the website http://www.upsconline.nic.in. Applications received through any other mode would not be accepted and summarily rejected.
ii) Candidates must upload the documents/certificates in support of all the claims made by them in the application like, Date of Birth, अनुभव (preferably in prescribed format), Desirable Qualification(s) etc. or any other information, separately against each claim in pdf file in such a way that the file size does not exceed
a. 1 MB for the respective aforesaid modules and 2 MB for the “UPLOAD OTHER DOCUMENT” module and is legible when a printout taken. For that purpose, the applicant may scan the documents/certificates in 200 dpi grey scale. Documents like Pay Slip, Resume, Appointment Letter, Relieving Letter, Un-signed अनुभव Certificate etc. must not be uploaded in the Document Upload Module
