शैक्षणिक योग्यता (Educational Qualifications): M.Sc, M.Phil/Ph.D

Applications are invited from eligible candidates (Indian Nationals only) on a plain paper for the following position in the research project “Understanding the role of homologous recombination in replication and repair of the mitochondrial genome of human malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum”

1. Name of the Post: शोध सहयोगी

2. No of Posts: 01

3. Fellowship in Rs: Rs. 47,000/- per month (consolidated)

4. Tenure of the Post: Initially one year. Depending on the performance it may be extended until the full tenure of the project.

5. Essential Qualifications:

MSc and PhD in Biochemistry or any other branches of Life Sciences. Candidates who have submitted her/his thesis, may also apply. For these candidates the fellowship structure would be different until she/he obtains her/his PhD degree

6. Desirable Qualifications/ Technical Expertise:

a) The candidate must have conducted her/his PhD work with a National level fellowship (e.g. CSIR-UGC. DBT, ICMR etc.)

b) The candidate should have proven expertise* in at least five of the following techniques:

i) Plasmodium falciparum in vitro culturing.

ii) Q- PCR with P. falciparum RNA and DNA.

iii) Chromatin-immunoprecipitation with P. falciparum genome.

iv) Yeast-two-hybrid analysis forstudying interaction between P. falciparum proteins.

v) Co-immunoprecipitation for studying interaction between P. falciparum proteins.

vi) Overexpression of P. falciparum genes in in vitro culture system.

vii) Western-blot analysis with P. falciparum proteins. proven expertise: as demonstrated by published articles in reputed journal

7. अनुभव:

a) Must have 5-6 years of post-MSc research अनुभव in the field of Molecular Parasitology.

b) Must have published at least one research article in a well reputed journal as a first author
