1. Post Name: Programme Analyst, Climate Change, Energy and Resilience

2. Duties & Responsibilities:

a. Identifying emerging issues and entry points for integrated programming across social, political, economic and environmental dimensions, and translating these into tangible inputs and interventions under UNDP programmatic areas;

b. Contributing to a strategic understanding of and engagement with substantive technical issues, institutions and processes in the field of climate action, clean energy and disaster resilience;

c. Applying systems and/or design thinking to development challenges and translating external insights into (a) actionable intelligence, research and analytics, (b) ideas to mainstream citizens and non-traditional actors across the thematic area, and (c) new and innovative concepts highlighting UNDP’s differentiated approach towards policy advocacy and technical support as well as global expertise in the area.

d. Developing projects with government partners and other stakeholders on climate action, clean energy and disaster resilience, and supporting resource mobilization efforts for the same

e. Exploring opportunities for convergence with other country office and regional programmes for climate action and integrating ideas from associated fields including natural resource management, biodiversity conservation, nature-based livelihoods, chemicals and waste management and circular economy

3. Education: An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in environmental science, political/social science, social affairs, law, international relations or related field.

4. अनुभव:

a. At least 2 years of relevant अनुभव at the national and/ or international level providing management and substantive advisory services with hands-on अनुभव in design, monitoring and evaluation of development projects in the field of climate change, energy and resilience.

b. Excellent understanding of the challenges in the area of climate change, energy and resilience in India including challenges related to implementation of national commitments under UNFCCC, Sendai Framework etc. including the Nationally Determined Contributions

c. अनुभव in working with quality assurance tools and results-based management models in a development context

d. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

e. Excellent knowledge of MS Office and other relevant software packages; अनुभव in handling web-based management systems and skilled in using social media

5. Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Hindi
