Skills / Eligibility

Applications are invited for ONE post of Science Communication and Outreach Manager for Science Communication and Outreach activities of the Institute. The position is initially offered for a year which is extendable up to five years on yearly basis. The incumbent will manage the Science Communication and Outreach Center. The ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously and develop high-quality content within stipulated deadlines is essential. The details of the required qualifications and अनुभव are given below.

3. Remuneration: A consolidated remuneration of Rs. 70,000 per month will be paid to the selected candidate. An yearly increment of 5% will be provided subject to renewal of contract based on satisfactory performance.

4. Essential Qualification: Master’s degree in Physical Sciences with अनुभव in science communication and science outreach. Excellent written communication skills in English in science writing/ journalism. Proficiency in rewriting copy/editorial review to ensure quality and accuracy of written communications. Ability to distill complex ideas to the lay public/non-scientist. Video recording/editing. Expertise in handling social media. Relevant work अनुभव of three years supported by documentation and testimonials.

5. Desirable: PhD in Physical Sciences.

Selection Procedure

Shortlisted candidates will be requested to appear for a personal or online ሺzoom/skypeሻ interview at the Raman Research Institute. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interviews. Mere fulfilling the essential and desired qualifications will not entitle an applicant to be called for interview.

रामन अनुसन्धान संस्थान (Raman Research Institute (RRI)) भारत का एक प्रसिद्ध वैज्ञानिक अनुसंधान संस्थान है। यह बंगलुरु में स्थित है। इसकी स्थापना नोबेल पुरस्कार से सम्मानित भारतीय वैज्ञानिक चन्द्रशेखर वेंकट रामन ने की थी। यह संस्थान सी वी रामन के निजी शोध संस्थान के रूप में आरम्भ हुआ किन्तु आजकल यह भारत सरकार द्वारा वित्तपोषित है।

रामन अनुसंधान संस्थान अब एक स्वायत्त अनुसंधान संस्थान है, जो आधारभूत विज्ञान के अनुसंधान में कार्यरत / निरत है। भारत सरकार के विज्ञान एवं प्रौद्योगिकी विभाग से निधि प्राप्त करने हेतु सन् 1972 में, आर.आर.आई को सहायता प्राप्त स्वायत्त अनुसंधान के रूप में पुनर्गठित किया गया। इसके प्रशासन और प्रबंधन के लिए विनियमों और उपविधियों का एक निर्धारित किया गया। आज संस्थान में अनुसंधान के प्रमुख क्षेत्र हैं – खगोल विज्ञान एवं ताराभौतिकी, प्रकाश एवं पदार्थ भौतिकी, मृदु संघनित पदार्थ तथा सैद्धांतिक भौतिकी। अनुसंधान गतिविधियों में रसायन विज्ञान, द्रव स्फटिक, जैविक विज्ञान में भौतिकी और संकेत प्रक्रमण, प्रतिबिंबन एवं उपकरण-विन्यास सम्मिलित हैं।
