शैक्षणिक योग्यता (Educational Qualifications): Any Post Graduate

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change is to fill up the post of अध्यक्ष of the National Biodiversity Authority (Rashtriya Jaiv Vividhata Pradhikaran). The Authority was set up on October 1, 2003 through Gazette Notification No. 906 in exercise of the powers conferred by the sub-section (1) and (4) of Section 8 of the Biological Diversity Act, 2002 (18 of 2003). The Authority is a body corporate and its head office is at Chennai.

2. Pay Scale : Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India with headquarters at Chennai (Tamil Nadu) in the fixed pay Level 17 i.e. Rs. 2,25,000/- per month (as per 7th CPC) with allowances as admissible under the Central Government Rules.

3. Qualifications :

a) He candidates should hold at least a post-graduate degree, and have 30 years of अनुभव in dealing with issues of science and social sciences, with at least 5 years of अनुभव of working in the Central/ State Government at senior level including heading Government institutions.

b) He must also have administrative अनुभव and be well versed with current developments related to access and benefit sharing under various relevant international fora.

c) अनुभव of working with different stakeholders in biodiversity, अनुभव in participation in international negotiations, and an undertaking of legal issues shall be desirable

पर्यावरण, वन और जलवायु परिवर्तन मंत्रालय भारत की पर्यावरण एवं वानिकी संबंधी नीतियों और कार्यक्रमों के कार्यान्वयन के नियोजन, संवर्धन, समन्वय और निगरानी के लिए केंद्र सरकार के प्रशासनिक ढांचे के अंतर्गत एक नोडल एजेंसी है। इस मंत्रालय का मुख्य दायित्व देश की झीलों और नदियों, जैव विविधता, वनों और वन्यजीवों सहित इसके प्राकृतिक संसाधनों का संरक्षण, पशु-कल्याण और प्रदूषण का निवारण एवं उपशमन सुनिश्चित करने से संबंधित नीतियों और कार्यक्रमों का क्रियान्वयन करना है। इन नीतियों और कार्यक्रमों के कार्यान्वयन में मंत्रालय सतत् विकास और जन—कल्याण को बढ़ावा देने के सिद्धांतों द्वारा निर्देशित होता है।

यह मंत्रालय देश में संयुक्त राष्ट्र पर्यावरण कार्यक्रम (यूएनईपी), दक्षिण एशिया सहकारी पर्यावरण कार्यक्रम (एसएसीईपी), अंतर्राष्ट्रीय एकीकृत पर्वत विकास केंद्र (आईसीआईएमओडी) के लिए और पर्यावरण एवं विकास पर संयुक्त राष्ट्र सम्मेलन (यूएनसीईडी) के पालन के लिए भी नोडल एजेंसी की तरह कार्य करता है। इस मंत्रालय को बहुपक्षीय निकायों जैसे सतत विकास आयोग (सीएसडी), वैश्विक पर्यावरण सुविधा (जीईएफ) और क्षेत्रीय निकायों जैसे कि एशिया और प्रशांत के लिए आर्थिक और सामाजिक परिषद् (ईएससीएपी) तथा दक्षिण एशियाई क्षेत्रीय सहयोग संगठन (सार्क) के पर्यावरण से संबंधित मामले भी सौंपे गए हैं।
