Skills / Eligibility

This refers to the advertisement released for the post of Principal Project Scientist under the project entitled "CSE Department Alumni Fund" (MI02443N) in operation under Prof. Prem Kumar Kalra, Department of Computer Science & Engineering of this Institute.

1. Position: Principal Project Scientist (1)

2. Project Name: CSE Department Alumni Fund (MI02443N)

3. Department: Department of Computer Science & Engineering

4. Duration: Upto:30/11/2024

5. Consolidated fellowship / Pay-slab: Rs.56,000-60,000-64,000-69,000- 74,000-79,000/- p.m. plus HRA @ 24%

6. Qualifications:

M.Tech. in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or IT with a percentage of at least 65 % or 6.5 GPA. 6 years work अनुभव is required of which at least 4 must be in network and system administration. Provision exists for applying to CSE MIech part-time program at TD, and admitted candidates will be supported in pursuit of their degree.

7. Skills Requirements:

a. Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Python, Perl) is required. अनुभव with managing Linux server OS is required.

b. अनुभव with the management of LDAP, DNS, and Kerberos is preferred.

c. Firewall implementation and troubleshooting arc desirable.

d. Certification (preferred): CCNA and/or Network+

e. Demonstrated अनुभव working with backup storage systems (NetApps preferred)

f. अनुभव with SQL databases, web servers, and/or Cisco routers and switches preferred.

g. Familiarity with container services such as Docker, FaaS is desirable.

h. Familiarity with services such as Git and VM managers is desirable.

8. Work profile (what will vou be doinq):

a.Managing the on-boarding and off-boarding process of systems and people.

b. Managing software updates and app deployment on Departmental computing resources.

c. Maintenance of storage servers, ticketing service, heartbeats.

d. Experimenting with enhancing existing systems for robustness, availability, and troubleshootinq
