Skills / Eligibility

In this context, IISc invites applications for the position of प्रशिक्षकs in the disciplines of Chemistry, Earth & Environmental Sciences, Humanities, Physics and Materials, to help to conduct the laboratory courses of the Bachelor of Science (Research) Program.

1. Name of the Post: प्रशिक्षकs

2. Vacancies: 6 (GEN: 01, OBC: 02, SC:01, ST: 01, EWS-01) 1 Position each for Chemistry, Earth & Environmental Sciences, Humanities, Physics Discipline and two positions for Materials Discipline.

3. Eligibility Criteria:

i) Chemistry : Ph.D. in Chemistry with two years of अनुभव. Specialization in Physical/ Inorganic/ Organic Chemistry is desirable.

ii) Earth & Environmental Sciences : Ph.D. with two years of अनुभव. Specialization in the following areas is desirable :

a) Geochemistry with knowledge of aqueous chemistry, isotope ratio mass spectrometry, ion chromatography etc.

b) Exploration geochemistry and geochemical prospecting

c) Petrology and Geology

iii) Humanities : Ph.D. with two years of अनुभव in any one of the disciplines: Sociology, Political Science, History, Economics. A multidisciplinary Ph.D. is desirable. In the absence of requisite अनुभव, candidates with fresh Ph.D. can be considered OR candidates with MA/M.Com with two year अनुभव can be considered for the post of Project Associate-II with a consolidated pay of Rs. 28,000/- + HRA.

iv) Physics: Ph.D. in Experimental Physics with two years of अनुभव.

v) Materials: Ph.D. in Materials, Metallurgical, Ceramics, Polymers Engineering with two years of अनुभव.

4. Job Description: The instructor would be responsible for the maintenance of the undergraduate laboratories, teaching and conducting laboratory courses in consultation with the subject coordinators and the institute faculty. He/she would also help design and evolve the laboratory/lecture curriculum and may also need to assist in the conduct of tutorial classes, course material preparation (both print and electronic versions) and evaluation of students.

5. Duration: The above position is purely contractual, and candidates will be hired on a renewable annual contract (depending on satisfactory performance) for a maximum duration of 5 years. Contract tenure will commence from the date of joining. The waitlist will be operational for six months.

6. वेतन: प्रशिक्षक pay will be fixed in the range of Rs. 54,000-5,000-74,000 + HRA per month. The वेतन range for a Senior प्रशिक्षक is 85,000-5,000-1,05,000 + HRA. The वेतन will be fixed based on the अनुभव.

चयन प्रकिया: अभ्यर्थी का चयन लिखित परीक्षा एवं साक्षात्कार में उनके प्रदर्शन के आधार पर किया जाएगा।

a) Candidates who are desirous to be considered strictly on the aforesaid terms and conditions may fill the application form on the link given below duly attaching the required certificates in support of age, category, qualification, marks, disability and अनुभव on or before 24.12.2021. The eligible applicants will be called for an interview. However, Institute reserves the right to conduct written test if circumstances arise.

b) The electronic mode of interview (Zoom Call/ Microsoft Team) will be intimated to the candidates in advance. However, the candidates are advised to be prepared to give interview in all the medium mentioned here, and to appear in person, if so required. In case the interview is held in-person, no TA/DA shall be paid for attending the interview.

c) Candidates may please ensure that they are fulfilling all the requisite criteria prior to registering, failing which, their candidature is liable to be rejected/cancelled.
