4. Essential:- (i) Certificate of as Engine Driver from a recognized Government Institute or equivalent
5. Desirable:- (ii) Two years service as Sarang on a vessel of over four hundred Boat Horse Power.

2. No of Posts: 07
3. Qualification Matriculation pass or its equivalent from recognized boards.
4. Essential:- (i) Certificate of competency as Sarang from a Government recognized Institute or equivalent
5. Desirable:- (ii) Two years अनुभव as Sarang in-charge of a Vessel of twenty Horse Power.
6. Level in the Pay Matrix: PB -1: 5200- 20200 revised) (Level-04 in Pay Matrix as per vll CPC)

3. Qualification Matriculation pass or its equivalent from recognized boards.
4. Essential:- (i) Matriculation pass or its equivalent from recognized boards. (ii) Three years अनुभव in service on Boat.

Selection Procedure
(a) Written test.
a. The written test will consist of subjects in General English, General Knowledge, Simple Maths and relevant trade questions based on the qualification prescritkd for the applied. Written test will be of multiple choice questions.
b. The maximum marks for the written test will be 80 marks and one hour duration. Candidates must obtain 50% marks to qualify and the candidates who qualify the written test are to be shortlisted for the trade test. In case of SC/ST candidates, the qualifying marks shall be 45%.
(b) Skill Test:
The candidates who qualify the written test will be called for skill test. Skill test will be qualifying in nature and shall have no bearing on the overall merit. Selection will be based on marks/merit obtained in written test only.
आवेदन करने का तरीका (How to apply)
चयन प्रकिया: अभ्यर्थी का चयन लिखित परीक्षा एवं साक्षात्कार में उनके प्रदर्शन के आधार पर किया जाएगा।
1. Candidates fulfilling eligibility criteria should send their application neatly typed or hand written in the format given over leaf along with two passport size photographs (One photo to be affixed on application form).
2. The application, should be forwarded to The Commander, Coast Guard Region (A&N), Port Blair, Post Box No. 716, Haddo (PO), Port Blair — 744 102, A&N Islands within 30 days from the date of publication of this advertisement in Employment News.
3. The envelope containing the application must be superscribed as "Application for the post of Engine Driver/ Sarang Lascar/ Lascar 1st Class".
4. Application should be submitted By Ordinary only. The application should accompany the self attested copies of Educational qualification certificate, Age proof, Caste Certificate for OBC/SC/ST and अनुभव certificate, if any.
5. Application sent by Courier/ Speed/ Registered post or received after due date will rejected
6. Applications which are not in the prescribed format/without the required certificate duly self attested/ without photographs/without signature of the candidates will be summarily rejected.

भारतीय तटरक्षक की स्थापना शांतिकाल में भारतीय समुद्र की सुरक्षा करने के उद्देश्य से 18 अगस्त 1978 को संघ के एक स्वतंत्र सशस्त्र बल के रूप में संसद द्वारा तटरक्षक अधिनियम,1978 के अंतर्गत की गई। ‘’वयम् रक्षाम: याने हम रक्षा करते हैं’’ भारतीय तटरक्षक का आदर्श वाक्य है। वर्तमान में इस बल की कमान इसके महानिदेशक वाइस एडमिरल अनुराग जी थपलियाल, के हाथ में हैं।
भारत में तटरक्षक का आविर्भाव, समुद्र में भारत के राष्ट्रीय क्षेत्राधिकार के भीतर राष्ट्रीय विधियों को लागू करने तथा जीवन और संपति की सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने के लिए एक नई सेवा के तौर पर 01 फ़रवरी 1977 को हुआ था। इस बात की आवश्यकता महसूस की गई कि नौसेना को इसके युद्धकालीन कार्यों के लिए अलग रखा जाना चाहिए तथा विधि प्रवर्तन के उत्तरदायित्व के लिए एक अलग सेवा का गठन किया जाए, जोकि पूर्णरूप से सुसज्जित तथा विकसित राष्ट्र जैसे संयुक्त राज्य अमरीका, संयुक्त राज्य इत्यादि के तटरक्षकों के तर्ज पर बनाई गई हो।
