बैंक ऑफ महाराष्ट्र भारत देश में परिचालित, महाराष्ट्र का प्रमुख बैंक है। यह 10.00 लाख रूपये की अधिकृत पूंजी के साथ 16 सितम्बर 1935 को पंजीकृत हुआ और 8 फ़रवरी 1936 को इसने सक्रिय रूप से व्यापार शुरू किया।

स्थापना के बाद से इसे एक आम आदमी के बैंक के रूप में जाना जाता है, छोटी इकाइयों को प्रारंभिक मदद देने के कारण इसने आज के कई औद्योगिक घरानों को जन्म दिया है। 1969 में राष्ट्रीयकरण के बाद, बैंक का तेजी से विस्तार हुआ। अब इसकी पूरे भारत भर में (31 मार्च 2008 के अनुसार) 1375 शाखाएं है। महाराष्ट्र राज्य में किसी भी सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के बैंक की तुलना में यह सबसे ज्यादा शाखाओं के नेटवर्क वाला बैंक है। बैंक की स्थापना स्वर्गीय वी. जी. काले और स्वर्गीय डी.के.साठे के नेतृत्व में स्वप्नदर्शी व्यक्तियों के समूह द्वारा की गयी थी और 16 सितंबर 1935 को पुणे में इसे एक बैंकिंग कंपनी के रूप में पंजीकृत किया गया। इनका स्वप्न आम आदमी तक पहुंचना और उनकी सेवा करना और उनकी सभी बैंकिंग जरूरतों को पूरा करना था। बैंक और इसके कर्मचारियों के सफल नेतृत्व ने उनके सपनों को पूरा करने का प्रयास किया है।
